As soon as World War II ended, Edward Klein, a young combatant from San Antonio, Texas, returned to Mexico, where he had lived for some time with his parents. Thus was born in Polanco, on March 12, 1962, Klein's, a restaurant in the style of North American dinners, which offered hamburgers, milkshakes and hot dogs.
The success was immediate and Edward soon expanded his menu, among other things, inspired by the food of Andrea, his wife born in Puebla and who prepared dishes such as sopes, chilaquiles, tacos and good chicken consommé at home. Thus, they then combined the experience of the American dinner and delis with the richness of our Mexican cuisine.
